Zimbabwe: Out of Control

For the past seven years, Zimbabweans have been struggling to cope with an ever-deepening political and economic crisis. Zimbabwe was once called the bread basket of Southern Africa. Now, it has the world's highest inflation rate, fuel and food shortages, and 80% unemployment. The BBC’s Paul Bakibinga examines how the situation got so bad in Zimbabwe, and where the road to recovery may lie.
PART 1

In this documentary produced for the BBC World Service, Paul Bakibinga considers the causes behind the collapse of what was until just a few years ago one of the most successful and stable countries in Africa.
PART 2

The BBC’s Paul Bakibinga examines what Zimbabweans might do to help their nation recover a more stable footing. He also explores the impact of Robert Mugabe – the only leader Zimbabwe has ever had, and the man many blame for the country’s current crises.
