Taxing Questions, Part TWO
The BBC’s Maurice Walsh explores how globalisation and cultural attitudes impact taxation around the world.
PART 1

In this documentary produced for the BBC World Service, Maurice Walsh reports on tax havens, such as the island of Jersey, located in the English Channel between England and France. He also profiles Ireland. The economy was stagnant there two decades ago, but Ireland slashed corporate taxes, attracted much foreign investment, and is now one of the richest nations in the world. How do Ireland’s neighbors view this “tax competition?”
PART 2

The BBC’s Maurice Walsh explores the future of taxation. He examines whether there will be a push to raise taxes, and also looks at the possibility of taxing transactions in virtual worlds, such as the online community, Second Life.
