LeAlan Jones and Lloyd Newman were two kids who lived in and next to one of the most dangerous housing projects in Chicago. In 1993, they spent ten days recording their everyday activities -- from going to school to committing vandalism. They interviewed family members, in an attempt to find out why their parents drank – or who one of the boy’s father was. Their audio diary is a heart wrenching and uplifting account of life in the inner city. |
