A Tale of Two Presidents
The BBC’s Allan Little presents a look at two of America’s most revered Presidents and the impact their presidencies have had on America’s relations with the rest of the world.
FIRST HALF

Allan Little begins with an in-depth examination of one of America’s Founding Fathers: Thomas Jefferson. Little reports from Jefferson’s estate at Monticello on some of the many contradictions of Jefferson's life. For instance, that the man who "held these truths to be self-evident" that all men are created equal owned a slave plantation and believed that blacks and whites could not live together in America.
SECOND HALF

President Barack Obama has made no secret of his admiration for the President who sought to heal a nation split by civil war, and who ended slavery. Obama is not the only world leader to emulate Lincoln. In this documentary produced for the BBC World Service, Allan Little explores the ongoing influence of Abraham Lincoln.
