Can China go green?
China is now the world's largest greenhouse gas polluter. And some observers pin the blame for a lack of concrete action at the recent Copenhagen climate summit on Beijing. But the U.K.’s leading environmentalist explores recent efforts by China -- to go green.
FIRST HALF

Jonathon Porritt has been a leader of the environmental movement in the United Kingdom for more than thirty years. He's a former director of Friends of the Earth, and until recently was Chairman of the British Government's Sustainable Development Commission. The Guardian newspaper in London has called him "the most influential green thinker of his generation." In this documentary produced for the BBC World Service, Jonathon Porritt looks at China's response to the challenge of climate change.

SECOND HALF
